This year Temple Grafton C of E Primary School is 150! They had a fantastic celebration with children dressing up as Victorians, a wonderful church service with Heads new and old, morris dancing, planting of a legacy tree and then families enjoying themselves at their Summer Fete. Happy Birthday!
Congratulations to St Nicholas C of E Primary School for their recent Ofsted inspection. The first paragraph of the report sums up the school "The school’s vision of ‘dream big, shine bright’ permeates through all that the school does. The school welcomes pupils with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and effortlessly meet their needs. Pupils form harmonious relationships with their peers and staff. Pupils are happy and proud to be a part of this nurturing and caring school. The school dog, Bug, contributes to supporting pupils’ wellbeing by providing them with emotional support when they need it." To read the full report please click here.
On the 19th June all of our Heads and Executive Leadership Team met for our second MAT Strategy Day. This is a really good chance to evaluate all we have done and plan how we move forward together. Here we are listening to the wonderful Hanika explaining all the fantastic Lyfta projects she has led at St Nicks and how other schools can use Lyfta to enrich their curriculum. This was truly an example of Inspiration and Collaboration in action.
St Nicholas C of E Primary is one of our schools whose outside play has been enhanced by OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning). OPAL work with schools to "ensure that every child has at least one hour's outstanding outdoor play every school day" Their new mud kitchen is just one example of how they are making play more engaging.
Our MAT schools are very lucky to have some wonderful examples of our heritage on their doorsteps, from Coughton Court, the Saxon Sanctuary at Wootton Wawen, the ground works of Beaudessert Castle at Henley in Arden to name a few. One such famous landmark is the windmill at Harbury. Indeed it is so iconic that that it features in the Harbury C of E Primary School's logo! The School Council were recently invited in to see the new refurbished inside and learnt so much.
Pupils are Studley Infants' School had a wonderful time learning about numbers for National Numeracy Day. They dressed as numbers and then learnt numeracy through a number of different activities.
We are very proud of all of our staff across the MAT but it's always exciting to have their skills and commitment recognised by others. A huge 'Congratulations' then to Mrs Grier at The Ferncumbe C of E Primary School who has won a Primary Science Teacher Award 2024! We have seen some inspirational science lessons and visits taking place at The Ferncumbe inspiring a new generation of scientists, so this is well deserved.
Both Henley in Arden C of E Primary School and Temple Grafton C of E Primary School have just had SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspections. The purpose of a SIAMS inspection is to assess the school’s Christian Distinctiveness and how it's Christian vision is lived and breathed in everyday life at that Church of England School. We are very proud of both schools and you can see from their inspections how they embody the MAT visions and values and their own. You can read Henley's report here and Temple Grafton's here.
A huge Well Done to Henley for a fantastic Ofsted report. "Pupils are proud to belong to this truly inclusive school. Staff know the children, parents and carers well. Their genuine interest and care make everyone feel welcome, and this enables the pupils to feel safe and happy and to thrive." We certainly agree with this sentiment.
