The Multi Academy Trust Members

The Members The members of a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) are legally responsible for the Trust and enter into the funding agreement with the Secretary of State. The members are responsible for holding the directors to account for the running of the Trust and they also:

· ensure the strategic vision of the MAT;

· have control of the ‘company’ by approving any changes to the Articles of Association;

· appoint the Trust Board of Directors and can remove them;

· appoint the MAT’s auditors;

· receive the MAT’s annual audited accounts and annual reports
